Pricing
The nature of web development and SEM makes it difficult to apply a standard measure to the pricing of these services. No two businesses will have the same requirements, priorities or budgets. All will have different starting points in terms of where they have already got to with their websites.
Tiered structure pricing, based on numbers of pages, keywords, campaigns, etc., is just too simplistic. It takes no account of each client’s specific circumstances. Clients could find themselves paying for elements of the service that they don’t require. Or the pre-priced service may not fully meet their needs.
For these reasons, Egn Webcraft’s services are tailored for each client and the cost is tailored accordingly. That does not mean it will be excessive or uncompetitive. Quite the opposite. The client’s budgets, timescales and resources are taken into consideration and everything is assessed, itemised and costed before the client commits to paying anything.
Here is a brief summary:
- Preliminary discussions and assessments are not charged for.
- Once the requirements have been agreed, Egn Webcraft will provide a fixed-price quotation.
- The client is, of course, under no obligation to accept the quotation.
- The price will remain fixed unless the parameters of the project change whereupon any revised cost would have to be approved by the client.
- There are no hidden charges for things such as travel, materials, overheads, etc.
- Payment terms are agreed with the client on a case by case basis.
- All costs are subject to VAT at the prevailing rate.
The process
The process involved in actually doing the work can be tailored to fit in with the client’s operational procedures. But whatever the mechanics are, the following always holds true:
- the client’s requirements and objectives are clearly understood and enshrined in a documented framework;
- the client is not bound to any long term commitment; and
- the cost structure is acceptable, affordable and reasonable.
Here is a brief outline of how it might work:
1. Get in touch
There is no hard sell and no obligation.
2. Proposal
Egn Webcraft prepares a proposal document covering your objectives, the proposed solution, cost estimates and timescales.
3. Agreement
If the proposal is acceptable, then we draw up a simple agreement and commence work.
4. Project plan
If necessary, Egn Webcraft will prepare a project plan to enable collaboration, information flow and progress monitoring.
5. Down to work
Self explanatory.
6. Delivery
Includes documentation, training, monitoring and support as necessary.
